Development of fluorescent drug derivatives and medical probes

In collaboration with ULL, fluorescent analogues of tamoxifen, an anti-tumour agent widely used to treat breast cancer, have been developed as medical probes and new drugs. Thus, the FLTX medical probe is marketed internationally, and is also an excellent laser pigment. On the other hand, a derivative of tamoxifen has demonstrated a powerful pharmacological action without some of its most important side effects. The group is also developing fluorescent derivatives of other drugs and medical probes for molecular imaging.
