Mercedes López González

Mercedes López González holds a PhD in Biology and is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the IPNA-CSIC, where she combines her extensive experience in the field of genetics with the study of invasive alien species and the reptiles of the Canary Islands. Her research interests have previously been linked to the Biodiversity area in the Genetics Department at the University of La Laguna, as well as to the study of pathogenic and non-pathogenic parasites in the Parasitology Department of The Institute of Tropical Diseases and Healthcare of the Canary Islands. She also has a wide background in working with public institutions and NGOs for the dissemination of scientific knowledge to the general public.
