Molecular complexity and function
We focus on:
- The design of new domino processes (cascade) for the generation of chemical complexity from simple molecular platforms (preferably linear), easily accessible (preferably commercially available or quickly assembled) and endowed with a polyvalent reactivity profile (multiple and diverse). We call them pluripotent platforms by association with the biological concept of pluripotency. Instrumental simplicity and scaling up are our main design criteria.
- The search of bioactive molecules. We design synthetic methodologies for the generation of small molecule libraries featuring maximum structural diversity and highly tridimensional content to reinforce their interactions with the target biomolecules (biomolecular activity). These libraries are screened for biological/pharmacological annotations.
