Víctor Manuel de la Iglesia Rial

Víctor Manuel de la Iglesia Rial (Santiago de Compostela, 1992), graduated in Analysis and Quality Control Laboratory, and holding a Pharmacy and Parapharmacy Assistant certificate, is specialized in multiple areas: sampling and sample treatment; chemical, physical, and physicochemical analysis of substances and materials; microbiology and biotechnology; quality control in accordance with current legislation; maintenance of equipment and instruments; and risk prevention in the laboratory.His professional experience covers various sectors: the food industry, as a quality control analyst for consumer products; the pharmaceutical sector, as a compounder of magistral formulas and officinal preparations; and research, particularly in organic chemistry and chromatography, which is the field in which he has the highest level of specialization. This is largely thanks to his stay at Centro Singular de Investigación en Química Biolóxica e Materiais Moleculares (CiQUS), based in Santiago de Compostela, a leading institution in the fields of biological chemistry and the development of new functional materials. Following his time in the Department of Molecular Sciences at the Instituto de Productos Naturales y Agrobiología (IPNA-CSIC) (2019–2023), where he specialized in the isolation, purification, and performance of cell-based assays to detect toxins related to Ciguatera poisoning, he is currently part of the Agrobiotechnology Department at the same centre. He is employed under the TecnoMac project, aimed at developing, implementing, and transferring technologies for the detection of quality and safety markers to foster innovation in the agri-food, health, and tourism sectors in Macaronesia.
