Profile

Paloma Castro Fernández holds a degree in Sociology from the University of Granada (UGR) and a Master in Research Methodology in Social Sciences at Complutense University of Madrid (UCM).

During the years she studied at UCM, she worked on the projects “Public, private and neighbourhood network initiatives against food insecurity in the Community of Madrid” —in collaboration with the Observatory of the Right to Food in Spain—, and “Dedication to study and work: obstacles and opportunities”, research that was presented at the XIV Spanish Sociology Congress.

Her main interest lies in the digitization and innovation of methodology in the field of Social Sciences. Other research projects she has been involved include: “Storytelling Group Technique and its digital application: The case of ghosting”, presented as a communication at the XIV Spanish Sociology Congress, as well as introduced in the DIVISAR-UCM project; and “Analysis of digital communities about food cultures on the Internet”, where she advocated for a mixed methodology involving digital ethnography and Social Network Analysis at the II EDFES Meeting Congress.

She starts at IPNA as a predoctoral researcher with the aim to work on the methodology of the NAWICERT project, as well as on the application of research techniques for current fields such as natural wine, local consumption, changes in diet and dietary communities.
